About Us
Growing in Faith, Together
Our History
A Legacy of Faith Since 1956
For nearly seven decades, First Free Will Baptist Church of Pontiac has been a place where faith, family, and fellowship have come together to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Founded in 1956, our church began with a desire to establish a faithful Free Will Baptist presence in the Pontiac community. In those early years, God blessed the congregation with growth, new families, baptisms, and a growing commitment to reaching people with the message of Christ. By 1958, the church was already an active congregation in Pontiac, with a growing membership and a strong emphasis on worship, prayer, Sunday School, evangelism, and missions.
Through the years, generations of families have passed through our doors. Children have been taught the Scriptures, people have found Christ, believers have grown in their faith, and countless lives have been touched through the ministry of this church.
While much has changed since 1956, our purpose remains the same: to faithfully proclaim Jesus Christ, stand upon the truth of God’s Word, and be a church that serves and loves the people of our community.
We are thankful for those who came before us, for the foundation they established, and for the faithfulness of God throughout every season.
Our story began in 1956. Our mission continues today. And by God’s grace, we look forward to what He will do in the years ahead.
